Reading my post again, I see where the confusion is. My apologies. Sometimes I just assume people know the background to what Im discussing....
Any how, what I meant was name ONE French horse that has been racing in the elite for a NON-French trainer.
Name a French horse that has been sold and then gone on to be good, not average good.
Im not sure how aware and familiar you are of the French pride, its whats holding them back and a qualĂty rather admirable.
Dubois would be one of the first in a rather lonely group of French people who doesn't mind the non-French mix. But then again he got to much money and he is to much of a business man to let the good ones go. At any price.
Do I make more sense now?
And yes Q.d.C is quite a horse, but then again he hasn't preformed when it counts as yet. When I'm talking elite horses over there I'm talking of the likes like: Torvald Palema, Brioni ect.
Q.d.C has proven he is good enough for things like a winter V75 Gold final, but is he good enough to do lets say Group 1s?Would he be good enough to do some of the classics at Vincenne, Prix de Paris or something like that? Would he be able to at least be sound enough to participate at the swedish classics over the summer? Or is he just an other horse like the swedish popular Acclaim? Good in winter time but cant preform when the big boys comes out?
And regarding Love yous fist crop in NZ it follows what they have been everywhere else. They aren't 2yos but they start to show their true capacity as 3yo, and possibly doesn't bloom out until 5yos.
Btw, regarding Italian blood, dont be so harsh it is a different breed. Not just American lines, they are built differently. More slick so to speak. On type one of my favorites. But mind you its only a few breeders that knows what they are doing and considering the difficulties they have had with money, corruption etc. Im picking its a lot of horses there that hasn't been able to prove their potential.
